MOTO Bicycles combines years of experience from professional cycling with needs of urban style-conscious and ambitious bike enthusiasts. Therefore it is not surprising that the story of our MOTO's begins on the streets of Berlin.
Ali Barjesteh the founder of MOTO and former BMX European champion created a completely new platform pedal based on his extensive biking experience. Before a team of designers, mechanical engineers and aircraft experts were involved in the development, it was hammered, filed and baked in his kitchen until one evening, still steaming hot, the first MOTO Pedal was pulled out of the oven.
Through the collaboration of many clever minds, in 2012 the urban Classic was launched and instantly swept up all prizes. Among others the ISPO BRANDNEW Award, the Eurobike Award and the Green Product Award to name just a few. Since then, our range has evolved with the Colour variants and the all new Reflex Pedal to offer the optimal pedal solution for every biker.

Pedals are one of the three main points of contact with the bike - and the most important factor for your power transmission! The power of our flatpedals is based on the combination of engineering with innovative spirit and a development phase full of optimizations:
The layers of our unique sandwich construction combine
a maximum of technical sophistication and a minimum of space. The core is a highly hardened and tempered CNC stainless steel axle, which rests in an unusually flat and ultra-stable wooden or polymer frame.
Two load-bearing shells made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic with a honeycomb structure form the extra-large contact surfaces on the top and bottom, which in teamwork with our stylish grip-tape save the world's shins: as high heels, leather soles and and even bare feet can virtually no longer slip off.

All of our components are produced by hand in small batches and every single pedal is assembled, tested and packed by hand.
From the wood manufactory in the Ore Mountains to the work-
shop for disabled people in Berlin, we are proud to know the people we work with. For us, quality also means short distances and fair cooperation.

Clearly, biking and sustainability belong together, so to speak, but we were not satisfied with that and developed a pedal, designed for a lifetime use thanks to its modular construction. So you can always upgrade your Motopedals or adapt to your own style without buying a new product. If a part on your pedal really does break, you can simply replace it. All materials are produced
with high quality and designed for durability. That's why it's important to
us to always stay up to date with what research and development has to offer in terms of innovative, sustainable materials. We only want you to travel long journeys with our MOTO's, so we deliberately avoid long shipping distances by manufacturing in Germany and thus protect the environment.
